Half photographer, half calming presence, full believer in photos that actually mean something.

your mitten-state photographer, certified emotion-catcher, Grillo’s pickle enthusiast, and someone who might tear up if your dog makes an appearance at your session (fair warning).

I’m based in Southeast Michigan, but if I could split my time between the forests of the Upper Peninsula (UP) and the shores of Lake Michigan, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Photography isn’t just my job—it’s how I connect with people.

The way I see it, this is a two-way street. I’m not here to just show up and take pretty pictures. I’m here to build something with you: trust, comfort, and space to fully be yourself. The laughter, the quiet glances, the goofy in-between moments? That’s the good stuff—and I’m all in for it.

Hey, I'm Nichole—

kind words

“Nichole is a truly SPECIAL photographer. She is able to capture candid photos that make you forget it is a session. It feels like catching up with an old friend.

She is professional and fun to work with. Her visionary style is unlike other photographers in the area. Her ability to travel is an added bonus to capture life's moments in the most spectacular places. I cannot recommend her enough!”

What I believe

In this industry, expectations can get loud and kind of…unrealistic.

And yea, I know every photographer says ‘I just capture what’s real’ —but I really, truly mean it. Not because it’s trendy, but because I’ve lived the difference.

The quiet, in between moments? The unposed hugs, the blink-and-you-miss-it-glances–-those are the ones I grew up cherishing in my family’s old scrapbooks. That’s the kind of remembering I want to offer you too.

I didn’t pick up a camera because I wanted to take perfect pictures. I picked it up because I’ve been through what it means to lose someone you love—and to hold onto what you can.

After back-to-back years of loss, I found myself doing what so many of us do: digging through old scrapbooks and photo albums, pulling out blurry film photos, looking for the kind of remembering that actually feels like the person.

What stuck with me weren’t the portraits chasing perfection. It was the camping trip snapshots. My papa in his favorite spot on the beach. My grandparents at our last Christmas together. A moment I almost didn’t capture–but it just happened to be the last photo left on my film roll.

That photo? It’s one of my most treasured images I’ve ever taken.

with love, always.

Why I Care So Damn Much

And that’s the kind of photography I *believe* in. The kind that doesn’t interrupt the moment. The kind that lets you be seen the way you really are.

You’re not planning this day to impress strangers or check boxes—you’re doing it because it means something to you. And you deserve a photographer who gets that.

Not someone who treats you like a transaction. Not someone trying to recreate a gallery from someone else’s wedding.

You deserve someone who helps you feel grounded again. Who reminds you why you’re doing this in the first place. Who documents those moments that you can look back on and say “Wow, we had fun back then, didn’t we.”

Whether it’s a 200-person wedding, a 10 hour elopement in the forest, or a backyard party with grandma’s cannolis–I’m here for your version of meaningful. Not mine. Not anyone else’s.

The Stuff I Love to Capture…

the way the sunlight reflects off a wine glass
the hush of campfires and s’mores
the energy of a full dance floor
the stillness of you sharing your vows with a cracked voice
the hugs, the laughter, and the little ways your favorite people show love when they think no one’s watching

That’s what I’m chasing.
THAT’S WHAT I PHOTOGRAPH.

If that sounds like your kind of vibe–I’d love to meet you.

(Grillo’s is the superior choice. No notes.)

(And yes, I cried at most of them. Still do.)

Engagements in the woods, vows in the rain, and a few dance floor bangers.)

Whether you’re planning something big, small, or somewhere in between—if you’re looking for someone who brings a little calm, a little humor, and a whole lot of heart, I’d love to be there with you.
