Reese and Autumns wedding was a Michigan winter dream! We started the day at the First Reformed Church where R&A belong to; the sun decided to shine through the beautiful stained glass windows and made for the most stunning light. We got ready, laughed, cried, and began the prep for the ceremony. We decided to do a last minute first look with Autumns dad, and I gotta say... I think it was one of my favorite moments of the day. Being surrounded by such incredible people and so much love was truly something special.
We had the obstacle of a 5 pm sunset and temperature drop, but that didn't stop anyone from having a good time! We broke out the flash and had an absolute blast on main street, and if it were just a liiiiiiittle bit warmer, we would have kept the party going. R&A had their reception at Porto Bello just right down the street from the church, and they did not disappoint! We entered the night with speeches, dinner, cake cutting and dances, and no time was wasted getting on the dance floor. Everyone truly was having such a good time, and I think it's such a big testamate to the amazing people R&A have in their lives.
Having Reese and Autumn in my life as friends is a big enough honor, but getting to photograph their wedding is something I truly do not take lightly. these two are some of the most genuine, big-hearted people I've ever met, and I wish I could replay this day over and over again!
TIP for my midwesterners who want a winter wedding: make sure you either plan your ceremony earlier, do a first look, or be okay with mostly flash photos! While planning all the other important details of your wedding (and theres a lot), don't forget to think about daylight and timing. This can and will completely change the vibe of your photos, so make sure you keep that in mind if there's a specific style you're going for!
